Solution: The Global Poverty Act (S.2433)
Because of you, the bill recently passed in the U.S. House of Representatives
and now being reviewed by the Senate. The Global Poverty Act requires the
White House to develop and implement a strategy for ending severe poverty and
achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
Your Role in the Solution: Call your Senators' office and tell the person
answering the phone, “I’m a Borgen Project supporter and I would like the
Senator to co-sponsor the Global Poverty Act.”
Problem: Over 10 million children die a year from preventable and treatable
diseases.
Solution: The Global Child Survival Bill (H.R. 2266 in the House) (S. 1418 in
the Senate)

Call your Senators' and Representatives's offices and tell the person answering
the phone, "I'm a Borgen Project supporter and I would like the Representative
to co-sponsor ("H.R. 2266" for Representative, or "S. 1418" for Senators), the
Global Child Survival Bill."
Problem: Women and girls in developing areas lack the education and resources
to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
Solution: The Growth Act (H.R. 2965 in the House) (S.2069 in the Senate).
The bill will increase the United States financial and advisory commitment to
developing countries in order to promote economic opportunities for
impoverished women.
